Word of the Month is a gentle self-care practice created for those navigating grief. Each month, one simple word is offered as an anchor — not to fix grief, but to support you as you continue living with it. The word is meant to guide small, compassionate actions, quiet reflection, or moments of pause throughout your days. There is no right way to do this. Take what helps, leave what doesn’t, and allow the word to meet you wherever you are in your grief.Let self-care remain intentional, personal, and kind.

Word Of The Month

Word: Patience

Meaning: The ability to give something the time it needs without forcing or rushing it.

Grief has no interest in our timelines.

We may think we should be feeling better by now.
We may lose patience with our tears, our exhaustion, our forgetfulness,

or the days when something we thought we had learned to carry suddenly feels heavy again.

But healing was never meant to be rushed.

Patience can mean allowing yourself to have the day you’re actually having —

instead of the day you think you should be having.

Being patient with your mind when it feels scattered.

Being patient with your heart when it hurts.

Being patient with yourself when grief shows up again.

This month, we’re going to practice giving ourselves something grief rarely gets enough of:

Patience
